What parents should know about vaccination?

What parents can do best for their children. They can offer the best place to live – a good house, best clothes to wear, best meal to eat, best health insurance policy for their future security, best TV, Smartphone and other gazette for their entertainment, as per their affordability. They can buy the best medicine in case of sickness. Is it enough?
No!!! It’s not enough until unless they ensure the good health and protection from the most common and preventable diseases.
Then what parents should do?
Vaccination, yes vaccination is the right answer. This is the only way to protect the beloved kids from most of the dangerous endemic diseases eg. Poliomyelitis, Measles, Pneumonia, Meningitis, Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertusis, Hepatitis, Tuberculosis and many more. Immunizations can save the child’s life and ensure the protection from specific diseases and its potential complications.
Vaccine is very cost effective. Imagine the condition that an 8 year old child admitted in the hospital with Measles infection, later he developed Pneumonia and ear infection with dehydration and electrolyte imbalance.   Due to these complications he had to stay in the hospital for 10 days ant its costs to parents about Rs 50000 and 2 week drop out from the school. All these happens due to a little but lethal mistake – the child was not vaccinated with Measles vaccine. In private health care sector the cost of complete vaccination is approximate 20000 to 25000, that is nothing as compare to cost of the treatment. These vaccines are freely available in government health sectors with highest quality and potency. All vaccines has excellent safety record. Another beauty of vaccinations is that, vaccine can protect to the unvaccinated people by producing herd immunity.

For further detail about vaccination, please contact to nearest government health facilities or your family physician. Wish you all a very good health.
