Health Ministry and ICMR launch India Hypertension Management Initiative (IHMI). Press Information Bureau, GOI MH&FW

Smt Preeti Sudan, Secretary (HFW) and Dr. Soumya Swaminathan, Secretary, DHR and DG, ICMR, launched the India Hypertension Management Initiative (IHMI) at a function, here today. The IHMI aims to reduce disability and death related to cardiovascular disease (CVD), the leading cause of death in India, by improving the control of high blood pressure (hypertension), reducing salt consumption and eliminating artificial trans-fats, leading risk factors for CVD.

e Learning on SIA (Supplementary Immunization Activity / Mass Campaign) Quality by WHO

A new SIA (Supplementary Immunization Activity  / Mass Campaign)  e-Learning program developed by WHO is now available to all WHO and UNICEF staff, external consultants, SSAs, MoH, partners supporting immunization, and other interested audiences. The e-Learning course titled "High Quality Measles and Rubella SIAs" describes how to plan and implement high-quality supplementary immunization activities for injectable vaccines (using an example of measles and rubella vaccines).
